About Me.
Hello everyone! My name is Yuanyang Yao, graduated from Industrial Design major of China Academy of Art. Now I am teaching product design course in Zhejiang Business College. I am also a designer, and I would like to summarize myself in three key words: creative, professional and optimistic. "Creative" is my soul, I like to use different media and technology to express my ideas and emotions; "Professional" is my foundation, I have flexible design thinking, and master a variety of design software and tools; "Optimistic" is my attitude, I am full of enthusiasm and confidence in life and work, and can actively cope with various challenges and difficulties. This is who I am, a creative, professional and optimistic design educator.

2022 - Present Entrepreneur / Start-up and Entrepreneurship

Co-founded a high-end dating platform "What If" with a view to the current marriage situation.

Set-up the registration system for becoming the membership of the platform and regularly held provincial national or outbound events that people with different background come to network with each other for mutual benefits.

Worked as an intern editor at new media department, responsible for the regular updates of its official Wechat account by posting new feeds, mainly in the form of artist interviews, new book introductions, reading sharing sessions, and offline reading activities.

The updates totaled around 150 and the highest number of views reached 2000; Helped the press grow nearly 200 followers.

Forced myself to explore new ways to attract and increase the number of Wechat account viewers that invisibly shaped my innovative thinking.
Jul. 2016-Jan. 2017 Organizing Committee / Design International Award (DIA)

Design Intelligence Award (DIA), founded by China Academy of Art in 2015, is China’s highest level design contest. As the founding member of the organizing committee, got personally involved in the preparatory work of the first two contests.

In charge of the liaison with the overseas contestants prior to the event and their arrangements for the accommodation in China. During the sidelines of the contest, guided them for every part of the contests, including the rehearsal, defense, exhibition and media interviews.

Further improved the organizing capabilities, especially during the Tokyo Design Week 2016, reached out to the organizer and had exchanges of information via hundreds of emails so that all the details of the design week went smoothly.
